Splat! If you hear that, chances are you're out of the game, and your team will have to steal the other side's flag without you. But you'll be back in the very next paintball contest, where in a different scenario and a different environment, you might get them before they get you! But one thing's for sure, the excitement of hunting while being hunted is like no other, and California has some of the best paintball field stalking grounds in the country. You can stalk your opposition in a forest, outwit them in the trenches of a battered field, or ambush them in a simulated urban war zone. California has an exciting variety of paintball fields and scenarios.
California paintball fields and target ranges can be found all over the state, and Extremethings.com's Adventure Club knows them all very well. Some of the most popular indoor and outdoor paintball fields in California include:
• Hollywood Sports Park in Bellflower, California
• Tombstone Paintball Park in Corona, California
• California Paintball Park in Castaic, California
• Mr. Paintball USA, in San Diego, California
• Sunol Paintball Field, Sunol, California
• Santa Clara Paintball Park, Santa Clara, California
• Paintball USA, Simi Valley, California
• Extreme Paintball Field, Modesto, California
• Paintball Jungle, San Francisco, California.
For 25 dollars or less, you can play all day at most of these parks. They have instructors who will teach you paintball safety and winning strategies and tactics. Referees work hard to keep things fair and safe. Paintball is great fun for bachelor parties, families, groups of friends and even for corporate team building. Just imagine pitting the marketing folks against the sales guys! And absolutely nothing is more exhilarating than blasting your boss in the face with a paintball.
All of the California paintball fields offer all the equipment that you will need to enjoy the game, including the paintball gun, face mask and safety equipment. You will have to pay for the paintball ammunition as well as for the extra Co2 that you use. There are few activities, however, that can compete with paintball for inexpensive all-day fun.
Most California paintball fields are open all year round so you need to dress for the weather if you are going to an outdoor range. Although all equipment is provided, it is recommended that you should wear a long-sleeved shirt and shoes with good ankle support. Gloves will provide extra protection. The paintballs splatter when you get hit, but fortunately the marks are easily washed out of clothing.
