What is the agenda for the activity? What can participants expect? During the Dry Session (3 hours), you will learn everything there is to know about kiteboarding including gear selection and use, safety systems, surfing jargon, how to rig your kite, kite control, “wind window,” launching assisted and self launching, landing assisted and self landing, re-launching your kite, and the “power stroke.” Our team will walk you through all the basic drills to help you master your kite skills before you enter the water. Depending on the progress and performance of the students, the last portion of the dry session may be wet!
The Wet Session (3 hours) is where you put all your “dry” skills to the test. It is a comprehensive water lesson that will take you through body drags, water starts, basic board skills, and water re-launching of the kite. Self rescue and recovery techniques may also be covered. The dry session is a prerequisite of the wet session and only those participants who have mastered the dry skills will progress to this water lesson. Depending on the progress and performance of the students, some portion of the wet session may be dry.
Note: Each kiteboarding session is has a maximum of 3 students per instructor. Prices quoted above are per person for groups of 2 or 3. Private (one-on-one) instruction is also available for $199 for the Dry session or $398 for the combined Wet and Dry session. Call for scheduling and details.
What should the participants bring or wear? Is all equipment included? All equipment is included with the kiteboarding lessons, such as the kite, kite bar and lines, pump, harness and kite board. Other recommended (but not necessary) safety items to consider are a helmet , wetsuit, and floatation vest. Please bring with you sunscreen, water, swimsuit, and sunglasses. How long should the participants allow for the activity from start to finish? Each kitesurfing lesson last approximately 3 hours. Morning sessions are generally scheduled for 11:00AM and afternoon sessions begin at 3:00PM. Private lessons can be arrange for any date/time. Kiteboarding is a year-around activity and takes place 7-days a week.
When and Where does the activity take place? You can arrange to have your kitesurfing lessons at the following southern California beaches: Seal Beach, Mission Bay, Belmont Shore, or in San Diego. The exact meeting location of the lesson will be provided after booking when you schedule your first lesson. Are there any restrictions (age, weight, health, etc.)? Kiteboarding is available to anyone between 9 and 69 years of age. Participants must be physically fit and in good health to kiteboard, and knowing how to swim is mandatory. Those less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Can spectators be accommodated? Spectators are welcome.

Can persons with disabilities be accommodated? Students should be physically fit and healthy to participate in the kiteboarding lessons. Additionally, participants must know how to swim and be very comfortable in ocean water.
Can large groups or corporate events be accommodated? Large outdoor adventure groups and corporate events are welcome. We can accommodate up to 9 students per session.
