What is the agenda for the activity?  What can participants expect?
Your ½-Day Hiking or Rock Scrambling tour includes van pick-up and drop-off from any Las Vegas Strip hotel.  Pick-ups are generally scheduled around 8:00AM followed by a 30-minute drive to the trailhead. Lunch, snacks, water and the use of a small pack are provided on every trip.  Participants can expect to be returned to their hotels around 1:00PM.

Hiking is a form of walking (usually on trails) with the specific purpose of exploring and enjoying the scenery of the natural environment. Rock Scrambling is more of an adventurous hike – in some places the scramblers will venture off-trail and be required to use both hands and feet to cross small boulders, steep inclines, or general rocky areas.

The Hiking and Rock Scrambling routes and destinations will vary from day to day.  However, each experience will begin in Red Rock Canyon at an altitude of 4,200 feet with an average elevation gain during the course of the hike/scramble of approximately 800 feet.

All Hiking and Rock Scrambling excursions are private – only you and your hiking guide(s) will be present.  Your private excursion will be tailored to fit your interest and ability so feel free to request tours with difficulty levels ranging from light or moderate to strenuous.

Hiking guide(s) average over 12 years experience leading hikes and scrambles throughout Southern Nevada with a particularly strong focus on Red Rock Canyon.  Guides are very knowledgeable regarding the history of the area, plants/vegetation, and indigenous wildlife.  Guides are also trained in CPR and first aid.

What should the participants bring or wear?  Is all equipment included?
Lunch, snacks, water and the use of a small pack are provided, however, participants should dress in comfortable clothing and athletic or hiking shoes.  A long sleeved t-shirt is recommended to help protect from the sun as are sunglasses, sunscreen, and a brimmed hat.  During the cooler months of winter, dressing in layers is recommended.  Remember to bring medications which you may need on any trip (i.e. asthma inhaler, bee sting kit, etc.).  Don’t forget your camera!

How long should the participants allow for the activity from start to finish?
Your Hiking or Rock Scrambling adventure will begin with a van pick-up from your Las Vegas hotel and will last approximately 4 or 5 hours.  Pickups are generally scheduled around 8:00AM with participants returning to their hotels around 1:00PM.  Note:  during the hottest months of year (mid-June thru mid-September), pickup time start will be 6:30AM and returning to hotels at 10:30AM.
