Designed for the beginning shooter, this course provides constant hands-on training where participants will fire almost 200 rounds of ammunition in a variety of imaginative and challenging scenarios and under the supervision of knowledgeable instructors. By the end of this class, participants will have learned the basics of how to shoot fast and accurately, how to reload under pressure, and the legal ramifications of using lethal force for self defense. The Handgun Firing and Handling course also allows participants the opportunity to experiment with a variety of handguns and calibers, ideal for those who are shopping for a handgun.

What is the agenda for the activity?  What can participants expect?
The Handgun Firing & Handling is a two-day course with the first being an in-class orientation to weapons handling, whereas the second class covers live ammo fire.  This class will familiarize shooters with the capabilities of and liabilities for using a handgun for defense.  It covers all aspects of handgun usage including safety, mindset and all aspects of handgun manipulation.  The Intermediate Handgun course has no "classroom" time and is conducted entirely on the range.  It is designed for shooters who have their own handgun and understand the basics of sight acquisition and trigger control.  All participants are run through a dynamically challenging course of fire where they will be graded on one-arm and prone shooting while engaging multiple targets.

What should the participants bring or wear?  Is all equipment included?
In the Handgun Firing & Handling course, all handguns and protective gear are provided (ammo is available at cost).   Participants can try both revolvers and semiautomatics, in a wide variety of calibers, from .22 to the massive .44 Magnum.  With respect to all other courses, participants should bring their own firearm (or rent one from the vendor).

For all courses, participants should wear comfortable clothing.

How long should the participants allow for the activity from start to finish?
Each class sessions generally run an hour and a half in length.

When and Where does the activity take place?
Orientation takes place in a classroom setting.  Live fire takes place at a shooting range.

Are there any restrictions (age, weight, health, etc.)?
Participants in the Intermediate Handgun course should already have an in depth knowledge and understanding of handgun firing and handling.

Can spectators be accommodated?
Spectators are welcome.

Can minors participate?
Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Can persons with disabilities be accommodated?
Persons with moderate disabilities can be accommodated, but should notify vendor of limitations at the time they schedule an appointment.

Can large groups or corporate events be accommodated?
Large groups or corporate events are welcome.

Are there any availability or timing restrictions?
Classes take place in the evening during the weekday and on the weekends.
